hardstanding¶
part of a paved carriageway (3.3.1.5) that is not a traffic lane (3.3.1.13), hard shoulder (3.3.1.19), or lay-by (3.3.1.16).
NOTE: Hardstanding can include edges of a hard shoulder outside of designated lane markings, slips for future connector roads (3.3.5.1), etc.
